The Ohio-based Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum is known for recognizing and archiving history’s most renowned artists, producers, and other notable figures in the music industry. During the facility’s initial design, planners wanted an easy-to-clean, impact-resistant, sound-reducing floor. While initially settling on rubber tile, after 10 years moisture issues and extensive wear had taken its toll on the floor.
Stonhard seamless floors stand up to daily foot traffic of a world-renowned museum.
Attractive, acoustic, easy-to-clean Stonres RTZ is perfect for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gift shop.
Stonhard installers removed the rubber tile and prepped the concrete substrate. By marking off small areas and working in stages, the museum was able to stay open to the public. This also ensured proper cure times and rendered the process invisible to museum guests.
Stonhard applied a cementitious osmotic pressure-resistant grout to permanently seal the concrete and protect against future moisture issues. A unique seamless urethane flooring system was selected to meet the museum’s needs: Stonres RTZ. This decorative floor with colored resin chips provides exceptional acoustic efficiency and ergonomic comfort, all while remaining wear resistant, stain resistant, and easy to clean and maintain. With floors like these, the museum will continue to “rock on!” in style for many years to come.
